Eric Merritt Co-Founder & CTO Afiniate

Eric is a veteran entrepreneur, author and public speaker. He is expert in the architecture, development and deployment of large-scale distributed systems on heterogeneous hardware, and the languages and platforms required to support them. His experience spans from IBM mainframe and mid-range systems, to distributed build systems and massive fleet deployment tools for Amazon.com, and to high-frequency trading systems and financial exchange systems for leading private brokerages. Eric is a founding member of the Erlware open source project, primary developer of the Sinan build system and a co-author of the popular book “Erlang and OTP in Action”.

Joe Armstrong Father of Erlang

Joe Armstrong is a co-inventor of Erlang. When at the Ericsson computer science lab in 1986, he was part of the team who designed and implemented the first version of Erlang. He has written several Erlang books including Programming Erlang Software for a Concurrent World. Joe held the first ever Erlang course and has taught Erlang to hundreds of programmers and held many lectures and keynotes describing the technology.

Loïc Hoguin Erlang Cowboy and Nine Nines Founder

Founder of the Nine Nines open source Erlang company. Main author of the Cowboy, Bullet, Sheriff and Farwest projects. Spawnfest co-founder and organizer.

Scott Lystig Fritchie Decade-long Erlang addict

Scott has been working on Erlang since 2000 and his world hasn't been the same since then, in addition to hacking Erlang code and occasionally the Erlang virtual machine, he has had papers published by USENIX, the Erlang User Conference, and the ACM and has been a speaker at Erlang Factory. He is a former co-chair of the ACM Erlang Workshop and current member of that workshop's steering committee. Scott is a senior software engineer at Basho Technologies.
